About the role

We are a small team building AI agents that handle claims intake and follow-up for independent insurance adjusters. The product is live, customers use it every day, and the next six months are about making it work for ten times as many of them.

You would be our first dedicated AI engineer and one of our first five engineers. You will own the agent stack end to end, from prompts and evals to the Next.js app customers actually use. There is no ticket queue. You pick the problem, ship it, watch what happens and ship again.

What you'll do

  • Ship new agent features every week and talk to the customers who use them.
  • Build the evals and monitoring that tell us an agent is wrong before a customer does.
  • Own reliability: retries, fallbacks, cost and latency.
  • Work with the founders on what to build next. You will have a real say.
  • Spend time forward deployed with customers when it helps.

You might be a great fit if

  • You have shipped something real with LLMs, at a job, at a startup or on the side. Show us.
  • You are comfortable across the stack. We use TypeScript and Python.
  • You ship fast and often, and you are not a perfectionist.
  • You like talking to users and care about retention and revenue, not only clean code.
  • Any experience level is fine. Speed and judgment matter more than pedigree.

Tech

TypeScript, Next.js, Python, FastAPI, Postgres, AWS, and whichever frontier models work best this month.

How we hire

A short intro chat, a call with the founders, then a paid trial project so you can see how we work before you decide.

About us

We are a team of nine with paying customers and enough runway to hire carefully. We care about shipping, about customers and about people who want to build something from the beginning.
