The opportunity

An early-stage software company in San Francisco builds and operates AI agents for commercial real estate investors and operators. Its product is already live inside customer firms, and the people who use it every day are seeing a real difference in how much time their work takes and how many deals they can handle with the same team.

The company is now making its first dedicated sales-development hires. The product sells itself once a decision-maker is paying attention, and this hire is the person who earns that attention.

The role

This person owns the top of the sales funnel, working on-site in San Francisco during US business hours. You decide how the company goes after commercial real estate firms across the US, then carry out the entire outbound effort yourself: calls, LinkedIn messages, email, events, and anything else that makes a senior person stop and listen. The people you will be reaching are firm principals and the heads of their acquisitions and asset management teams.

Your responsibility ends at a qualified meeting. You land it, the founders will sit in on every meeting you land, and the work that leads up to it is entirely yours. At full ramp the target is about 30 qualified meetings a month, with half of that expected in the first month. How you split your time across channels to get there is your call. The seat is designed to grow into the company's first closing role.

You will not be building the machine from scratch. The company provides LinkedIn Sales Navigator, a power dialer, mobile-first contact data, curated account lists, and sequences and scripts drawn from deals it has actually won. Each week the founders go through your recorded calls and sent emails alongside you and coach you on both.

What you will do

  • Run outbound against curated target lists of commercial real estate decision-makers, using calls, LinkedIn, and email, and choosing the best channel for each account. Plan on five touches per account before moving on, and log every one.
  • Write your own outreach. You start from the company's message library and positioning, then refine both informed by what genuinely earns replies.
  • Convert interest into a calendar invite while it is still warm: lock in the time, and make sure the right decision-makers are attending.
  • Own the show rate with a same-day recap, a confirmation the day before, and a reminder the morning of. Attendance is your responsibility, because the pay is tied to meetings booked.
  • Carry what you learn in the market back to the team. The weekly sessions with the founders shape the messaging, the target lists, and the product itself.
  • Pick up the buyer's language fast: offering memorandums, underwriting models, and rent rolls. Within a couple of weeks you should be able to hold a credible conversation with a principal.
  • Handle your own research, preparation, and follow-up with the company's own AI agents, the same way its internal sales operation runs.

What the company is looking for

Persistence and curiosity matter more here than anything on a resume. The industry, the product, and the skills of outbound prospecting can all be taught. The stamina to continue after a long run of silence, and a genuine appetite for feedback, cannot. Drive counts for more than tenure, and years of sales experience are not required.

  • Relentless. Most outreach never gets an answer, and that energizes you instead of wearing you down.
  • A fast learner. Inside your first two weeks you will be discussing a principal's own deals with them.
  • Hungry for coaching. You ask to have your calls and emails reviewed, and you change your approach the following day based on what the review turned up.
  • Composure and clarity when dealing with senior executives, both on the phone and in writing.
  • Real interest in the industry, to the point that you find yourself reading up on it unprompted.
  • Located in the San Francisco Bay Area, with the ability to work on-site alongside the team during US business hours.
  • Ease with the uncertainty of an early-stage company, where the brand is new, the processes are still taking shape, and the founders stay close to every deal.

Helpful background

  • Experience adjacent to commercial real estate, such as proptech, lending, property management, or brokerage.
  • A track record in hospitality, fundraising, recruiting, sales, or any other customer-facing work that required you to gain the trust of someone who owed you nothing.
  • Hands-on experience with LinkedIn outreach, email sequences, or a dialer.

Compensation and growth

Pay combines a base salary, uncapped variable pay for every qualified meeting booked, and equity appropriate to an early commercial role. All terms, including the precise definition of a qualified meeting, are put in writing with the offer. The position is full-time and on-site in San Francisco, with a paid path into the company's first closing role.

Why now

Commercial real estate firms are all settling on their approach to AI, and very few will arrive at it through unsolicited email alone. A conversation is the quickest path to that decision, and this hire is the one who starts those conversations.

The team prizes honesty, a competitive streak, and pride in the work. If you want coaching on your calls and your writing straight from the founders who close the deals you open, and a seat that rewards every meeting you set, this is a strong place to start.
