Overview
This is an AI-native technology company rebuilding how commercial real estate firms operate. The team designs, builds, and runs custom AI agents for acquisitions, investment management, and asset management groups — each agent trained on a specific firm's own templates and criteria, integrated directly into the tools the team already uses, and activated the moment new work comes in. The company is looking for its first senior sales hire: a founding head of sales. What gets sold goes live inside a client's firm within days of signing, and the client team ends up automating thousands of work-hours through it. Given the small team size, this person will be involved in nearly everything — building the relationships that matter most, participating in key conversations with the founders, holding founding-team equity, and defining the sales approach for years to come.
The role
This is a senior, relationship-driven position. The core responsibility is opening doors at firms that own, operate, and finance physical real estate assets, and serving as the trusted industry voice once inside those conversations. Enterprise deals here are significant commitments for a client firm — a complete set of custom agents, integrations into systems already in use, and an ongoing build program that reshapes daily workflows. The buying committee typically includes Managing Partners, CIOs, COOs, and Heads of Asset Management, and decisions involve multiple stakeholders plus close scrutiny of security and data practices before anything closes — ultimately built on trust. Buyers want to sit across from someone who has been in their seat and can speak credibly to what transformation looks like for a firm like theirs. This hire won't be doing it alone. A sales operations lead handles sourcing, research, scheduling, and pipeline logistics. Founders and deployment engineers join sales calls directly, own the technical build, and carry the depth on implementation. That frees this person's time for what matters most — senior-level relationship building, first meetings that only happen because of who's asking, and articulating the vision of what an AI-native real estate firm looks like.
What the role involves
- Opening doors using an existing senior network in commercial real estate, and landing conversations at firms that would otherwise be out of reach.
- Acting as the industry expert inside executive conversations — building credibility with Managing Partners, CIOs, and COOs around the AI-native vision.
- Owning enterprise deals from scoping through diligence to signature, working alongside the founders and deployment team.
- Feeding market insight back into positioning and pricing as the enterprise sales motion matures.
- Representing the company at industry events and across the broader CRE ecosystem.
- Managing a personal sales workflow using the company's own agents for research, meeting prep, and follow-up — the same way the internal sales team operates.
What the company is looking for
- An active, current network spanning CRE investment and operating firms — REITs, private equity real estate, credit, and owner-operators — strong enough to secure a meeting with a Managing Partner or CIO directly.
- A career built in or adjacent to commercial real estate — as a principal, within capital markets or brokerage leadership, or in senior enterprise sales selling into these types of firms.
- Executive-level credibility with senior real estate leaders, built through years of direct industry experience.
- A demonstrated history of closing large, multi-stakeholder deals — whether sourced, sold, or driven from the buyer's side.
- Solid enough AI literacy to speak honestly with a buyer about the real capabilities and limits of agent technology (deep technical depth is covered by the deployment team).
- Comfort operating in early-stage conditions — an evolving brand, a sales playbook still being written, and founders involved in every deal.
Nice-to-have background
- Prior experience as a principal or operator in real estate — in acquisitions, asset management, or capital markets — before transitioning into technology.
- A track record selling high-value engagements that are deployed directly inside a client's operations, where scoping is part of the sales process itself.
- Public visibility within a CRE niche — speaking engagements, board positions, or a reputation that opens doors independently.
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: $175,000–$215,000
- On-target earnings: $300,000–$400,000, uncapped
- Meaningful founding-team equity
- Health, dental, and vision coverage
- Hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area preferred, with regular travel to clients and industry events
Final compensation is based on experience and confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
Why this role, why now
Commercial real estate firms are actively deciding how they'll operate with AI, and most of them have no one internally who can lead that shift. This company is already part of that shift — its agents are running in production at firms ranging from a publicly traded credit REIT to a well-known developer in Florida — and the enterprise pipeline is just starting to open up. Whoever builds this function now will own those client relationships for years to come. The team values integrity, competitiveness, and craftsmanship, and is looking for someone who wants to do career-defining work alongside people equally committed to it.
